Speed is built before the session starts

Speed is built before the session starts. Here's what to plan before you pick up the machine.

1. Your attack order. Know what gets done first and what gets done last. Then trust that plan once you're in it so you're not second-guessing mid-session.

2. What could go wrong. Maybe the client can't sit the whole time, or the design needs to change on the fly. Decide how you'll handle it now so it doesn't throw you later.

3. Your station setup. Have everything with you so you're not searching mid-session. Set it up the same way every time, with lighting good enough to actually see your work and be able to tell the difference between the pigments.

4. Your own energy. Are you rested enough for how long this session is? Get your focus locked in before the client walks in.

At a convention this matters even more, because whatever you bring is what you've got. The tattooing itself is the easiest part.
